German car maker Volkswagen will be introducing its small car, the New Beetle, in India this September. The two-door New Beetle will be imported fully built to India. Expected to be priced at approximately Rs. 15 – 16 lakh, it will fall in the same segment as the Fiat 500.
VW is also planning to officially launch its very good looking SUV, the Touareg, this year. The Tourareg is currently available in India as a dealer import. Another Volkswagen car, slated for a 2010 launch, is the New Polo.
As part of its effort to expand its presence in India, Volkswagen will be adding 25 more dealers to its network by 2010.
