The new MPV from Maruti Suzuki is here and is based on the Swift platform. There are two engine variants, a 1.4 litre petrol with power outputs of 93bhp and 130Nm of torque and the 1.3 litre diesel unit, which is built by Suzuki Powertrain India Limited in Manesar, producing 87bhp and 200Nm of torque. The petrol variant will come in three forms – the Lxi for Rs 5.89 lakh, the Vxi for Rs 6.69 Lakh and the Zxi for Rs 7.30 lakh – and the diesel will also come in three forms – the Ldi for Rs 7.30 lakh, the Vdi for Rs 7.90 lakh and the Zdi for Rs 8.45 lakh. More interestingly the MPV has done extremely well and already within the first 5 days since its launch it has notched up more than 10,000 orders. The Ertiga is a seven seater MPV and it will compete directly with the Innova and Xylo.
