Hyundai Motor India, the largest car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India has reportedly posted a growth of 8.8 percent in its sales for the month of April 2014. The Korean automaker sold a total of 35,248 units in the month.

According to industry experts, the sales growth of the carmaker was propped by the launch of the new Xcent compact sedan along with the Grand i10 hatchback and the Santa Fe premium sports utility vehicle.

The exports of the carmaker witnessed a decline of 39 percent shipping 14,974 units in the month of April 2014.

Mr. Rakesh Srivastava Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Hyundai Motor India stated that the sales performance of the automaker is in line with its objectives of growth in volume and market share. He added that the automaker is focused on strengthening its product portfolio and channel efficiencies in the current fiscal 2014-15.
