    Ford India sales decline by 3 percent in February 2012

    Amid significant sales growth reported by major automobile manufacturers in India, Ford India has posted a decline of 2.82 percent in its sales in the month of February 2012 selling 10,424 units in comparison to 10,726 units in February 2011. The decline is the result of a 1354 percent decline in its sales in the domestic market from 9,293 units in February 2011 to 8,035 units in February 2012.

    The company has held on with the help of its exports which it has increased by 66.71 percent from 1,433 units in February 2011 to 2,389 units in February 2012. According to Mr. Michael Boneham Ford India President and Managing Director, the company has expanded its sales network by adding 45 new dealerships in India in the month of February 2012.
