Toyota India showcased its Etios and Liva racing concept cars at the Auto Expo 2012. The cars will be participating in the Etios Motor Racing trophy planned to be held in 2013. The event would be supported by the Toyota Racing Development which entered the Indian Motoring scenario in the wake of India’s first F1 racing event in 2011. Apart from the Auto Expo event, the cars will be touring across India visiting 13 cities and 22 Toyota dealerships.
According to Mr. Sandeep Singh, DMD-Marketing for Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the company expects to cash in on Toyota’s global motorsport image reputation and also contribute to the development of motorsports in India by providing opportunities to the young drivers. The company plans to involve motor sport participants as well as spectators through its racing initiatives, added Mr. Singh.
