German luxury carmaker Audi India on June 3rd, 2011, reported an over two-fold increase in its sales for the month of May, 2011. The company sold 408 units this year, as compared to 200 units which were sold in the corresponding month last year (2010).
Also the company’s sales increased over two folds to 2,394 units for the period of January-May, 2011, as against the sales of 1,167 units in the corresponding months last year. Audi India Head, Michael Perschke expressed he is confident that “2011 will be a defining year for Audi in India.” He stated the strong brand presence was evident from “this strong growth rate, even in times of rising fuel prices and interest rates.”
