The upcoming car Maruti Suzuki Ignis is going to launch in India on 13th of January, 2017 at expected price tag from Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. It was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo and the car will be sold through company’s Nexa dealership across the country like the Baleno and S-Cross models. The Premium Urban Compact Vehicle Ignis will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options with four variants – Sigma (only in petrol), Delta (in petrol/diesel), Zeta (in petrol/diesel) and Alpha (in petrol/diesel). The company has already started bookings for the Ignis with an initial payment of Rs. 11,000/- through Maruti Suzuki NEXA’s showrooms or exclusive website – www.nexaexperience.com.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis technical details:
The Ignis will be powered by 1.2-litre VVT petrol and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine options. The VVT petrol engine can generate 82.9 PS of power @ 6000rpm and 113 NM of torque @ 4200rpm while the DDiS diesel engine has capacity to produce 75 PS of power @ 4000rpm and 190 NM of maximum torque @ 2000rpm.
There is also an option between the 5-speed manual and the AMT (Automatic) transmission in both engines. Company claims a fuel efficiency figure of 20.9 km/l for petrol and 26.8 km/l for the diesel variants respectively.
The Ignis has a wheelbase of 2435mm and 180 mm of ground clearance, it measure 3700mm in length, 1690mm in width and 1595mm in height. It has a 260-litre of Boot Space with five seating capacity and 32-litre of fuel tank capacity.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis Sigma: The Sigma is the base variant of Ignis, which will be only in petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission, loaded with features such as – manual air conditioner with heater, steel wheels (without wheel caps), body colored door handles and ORVMs, Cup and Bottle Holder, 12 V Accessory Socket, Tilt Steering, Front Power Windows with Auto Down Driver Power Window and single colour dashboard.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis Delta: The second variant Delta will be available in both 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel with 5-speed manual and the AMT gearbox. Loaded with extra features over Sigma variant – steel wheels with caps, dual-coloured dashboard, Turn Signal on ORVM, Tachometer, 2-din infotainment with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 2 speakers, rear power windows, Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Audio remote control, electric wing mirrors, 60:40 split for the rear seat, Remote Keyless Entry, security alarm system, Electronic Adjustable ORVM and more colour options for the body.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta: Third variant of Ignis in both petrol and diesel engine with MT and AMT choice of variant.
