Setting the growth momentum for the upcoming festive season, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has created a new yardstick for success. India’s most loved scooter, the Activa, has dethroned all motorcycle models to become the first two-wheeler to cross the 1 million sales mark in just 5 months of this fiscal year. The Activa has now become the largest selling 2- wheeler in the Indian market from the beginning of the fiscal year until now.
Today, the Activa is leading the scooterization of the Indian two-wheeler industry from the front. The Activa alone contributes towards 51% of the scooter segment. Activa sales volume has grown 20 times that of the two-wheeler industry, which has remained flat so far this year in April to August, 2015. Securing the No.1 position thrice in a row in 2015-16, the Activa sold a total of 2.17 lac units in August, 2015.
