Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has set a new record. India’s iconic Activa has become the first scooter in India to achieve a phenomenal One Crore unit sales landmark. That’s a lot of sales for just one model. Since its 2001 debut as the first two-wheeler launched in India by Honda, the Activa has reactivated the dying Indian automatic scooter market and redefined convenient mobility for the entire family. Today, the bike comes with features like superior four-stroke engine, and Honda Eco Technology, which delivers a mileage of 60kmpl.
The bike also has a V-matic (gearless) transmission, durable all metal body, Convenient Lift-up Independent Cover mechanism, tubeless tyres and combi-brake system. Backed by the trust of Indian customers, Honda made the steep climb from 55,000 units in 2001 to becoming the market leader in just 3 years. Since then, the Activa has grown to sell over 2.1 million units in the year 2014-15 and Honda is now the undisputed market leader with 59% market share in the scooter segment.
